That one time I accidentally dressed as Steve Jobs for a night.

Welcome to the official blog of Trevor Neil White! I’m an indie author who loves reading and writing science fiction/fantasy/horror stories and occasionally poetry. I also plan on dabbling in music soon… but while I’m a diehard gamer, the only thing I’ll be scripting there is plots, not code. I’m also a law student, but for my activist side you can hit up @TrevorNWhite.

My stories (and soon, novels!) aim to take familiar YA supernatural fiction tropes and Hollywood-style action, and inject them with strong prose, realistic characters/dialogue, and meaningful themes (i.e. changing social roles of minority groups, the effects of technology on relationships, just how weird a monster can look). As an internet geek since childhood, I also make sure to deliver some wacky humor or high-class “creepypasta” horror regularly, too. Let me know if I’m on the right track!

Some writers and works that have influenced/inspired me over the years (so you know what you’re getting into here!) include:

–“The Greats” (Isaac Asimov, Ray Bradbury, Arthur C. Clarke)

–George Orwell (1984)

–Aldous Huxley (Brave New World)

–Neil Gaiman (Coraline, American Gods, Smoke and Mirrors)

–Ernest Cline (Ready Player One)

–Bryan Lee O’Malley (Scott Pilgrim)

–Jerry Holkins (Penny Arcade)

–Randall Munroe (xkcd)

–Bill Watterson (Calvin & Hobbes)

–Way back when: R.L. Stine, Neal Shusterman, and William Sleator

–“Airport thrillers” (Dan Brown, Michael Crichton)

–Mindless action movies (Mission: Impossible, James Bond, The Raid, most things with aliens in them)

Thanks for stopping by, and if you like what you see, be sure to tell your friends and buy a copy of one of my books from the “Shop” page up there! If not, my goal’s always to make each story better than the last, so it’s a win-win.

Site technical assistance (especially with the PayPal buttons page) was graciously donated by Stuart Marlantes.
